The Ambient NanoLockit has one important job: keeping cameras and sound recorders locked to the same frame throughout the production day.

That means it's rarely sitting safely on a shelf. It lives attached to camera rigs, inside sound bags, or on carts between takes, cable-connected the whole time so the frames don't drift.

Like any tool that lives on a rig all day, it takes knocks, vibration, and the occasional drop. On top of that, it gets handled by crew members who didn't buy it and aren't thinking about it.

Out of the box, the NanoLockit ships with a lanyard, two velcro straps, and a sticker reminding the camera department to leave it on the rig. No shell. Nothing between the aluminium housing and whatever it knocks into next.

Easy to Spot at Wrap

Everything else near a camera is some shade of black: the cage, the cables, the boxes. A NanoLockit in matte black aluminum disappears right into that pile, which is exactly how it ends up still clipped to the camera after wrap. During a busy wrap, camera departments have their own gear to pack up and check, and it's easy to walk right past your own when you're breaking down a rig in the dark.

FAQ

Does the NanoLockit Sleeve block the timecode connector or USB port?
No. Both the LEMO-compatible TC connector and the MicroUSB port are fully cut out, so the NanoLockit can stay cable-connected to a camera or recorder, or plugged in for charging, with the sleeve on.

Can I still see the LED indicators and use the buttons?
Yes. The NanoLockit Sleeve keeps both jam buttons and the status LED fully accessible, so you can check status or operate the unit without removing the sleeve.

Why are there different colors available?
Colors make it easy to tell individual NanoLockits apart on set: color-code cameras, departments, or rental inventory, or just personalize your own kit. A bright color also stands out against black camera rigs and cases, so it's harder to accidentally leave clipped to a camera at wrap.

Does the sleeve add much bulk?
No. The TPU follows the compact shape of the NanoLockit closely, adding protection without the bulk of a hard case.

Will the NanoLockit Sleeve fit the Ambient NanoLockit Bracket camera mount?
No. The NanoLockit Sleeve isn't compatible with Ambient's NanoLockit Bracket. If you mount your NanoLockit on a camera cage with the Bracket, check fit before ordering.
